What Again ??

Hello,

You know I was just looking over my old and now ancient blogs from the past and I noticed that some of the comments were in July of last year. What a sense of utter time warping went through me. What has happened in all these months?? Now this question has no answer. Life goes on and on and we can get so busy that we forget what is really important.

When I set out on this blog adventure I actually stated that I would try and blog on a daily basis. This is addition to having a family, a job and a house to look after. If this was not enough to keep me busy there are all those google alerts that scour the internet and deposit to my email inbox all the articles, books , comments that some one makes online regarding some of the subjects I am so interested. Then comes the time I spend in my lab-study keeping it in some kind of order, reading, tinkering and yes dreaming of robots.

I am practical enough to know that just thinking about them is not going to create them. It took three weeks from idea to building Robo. There was some trial and error but the building went much smoother than I had thought it would. I had a deadline in the robotic show that was held in our local Science centre. This helped me focus and overcome the problems that arose rather quickly. Robo is a very simple robot and I thought it would react in set way. The constant twirling took me by suprise. At the show the section I took out robo with my daughter had huge windows. It was a cloudy day but robo would start turning when the sun peeked out and hit his phototransistors. It goes to show that you don't know until you build something how it will react.

Thank goodness that I had all the parts in my lab and they only chore was finding them. Over the decades I have gathered an actual pile of parts, wires, i.c.'s. You name it and I have it somewhere. Usually when I think of a circuit to build I have the parts and the equipment to experiment. Many an idea has died on the breadboard. Also many an idea has been born by trying this and trying that and this is always a lot of fun.

Usually all these activities go one at the same time. To compound things I usually write my ideas for blogs on a note pad and the try to transfer them to this posting area as intact as possible. This blog was not created in that manner. However I have three more ready to be published. It is always amazing how the simplist things can start me thinking about things until the ideas just keep coming. I find that bloging is very helpful in keeping things in order and a way of perserving my ideas.

I have noticed and been on other blogs and they are so different in subject matter and presentation. Trully a facinating world out there in cyberspace and there are so many people that it is a challenge, but one I can meet. I have not meant to complain about all that has to be done. As our world becomes more complex and diverse we as individuals can adapt. We are capable of wearing many hats and accomplishing something worthwhile.

Take Care

Pius

You are most welcome

Hello Daniel,

I have just sent you an email and I was checking my blog I see you are a follower. It came as an absolute and pleasant suprise. I know I have not been bloging, believe me it is not from lack of ideas and material. I promise to remedy this quickly. Did you get a chance to play that little video of Robo??. I will post some pictures and a rough schematic soon.
